Suppression

I'm becoming depressed over so much suppression.  That's right every which way I look at it the political parties are suppressing my vote and not just mine but especially those that are independent or (swing).

Some tactics to suppress votes are:
1. Mud-slinging, this is a sure fire way to get an average citizen to stay away from going to a polling site because it just stinks.
2. Gerry manding the district lines, so you know exactly who will be voting
3. Break the rules, and this one happens not just in a Democrat party…but the republicans
4. Buy votes, hmm thought this tactic was long gone but it is coming back in vogue
5. Lie, a tried and true idea that never goes away.

I only regret

Nathan Hale:  "I only regret that I have only one life to give to my country"

What was it about America that a man would say such a thing, because in fact Nathan Hale did die for his country. Here is a great history link of his life here http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/hale.htm

I wonder so often what was America like in these days, yes, it was under siege and battle but it had something so unique from all others that flags, poems, songs, banner, pledges would be written and patriots were formed.

Today would I die for my country? It's not what Nathan Hale had to die for, but I will do my part to make it better, keep what little independence we have left for my grandchildren to live in and hopefully recover truths from the past.

Voted Off

Ahhh! Three strikes and I am out, but I had a pretty good run

Two years ago I wrote the post below about my election to the local GOP Management Committee, and today I am no longer on that committee but was voted off by 1 vote..

Two years ago when I started on the committee it was a sleepy group.  I kid not, one committeeman would nod off, another committeeman would fidget and seem irritated about the whole meeting, in fact at one meeting when I was asking questions on the budget he finally had enough (of whatever) and told me to "shut the hell up" interestingly this bully approach took no correction from any man in the room not even the avowed "christian" man took any stand, seems bullying another especially a female committee member would become the way to handle someone like myself who saw things differently.

The Committee Woman position gave me the opportunity to work with the precinct chairs in County Commissioner PCT 3; it wasn't all about the Management meetings to me, it was more about engaging others into the political process and the precinct chair position was a position of power that our local GOP was not utilizing or realizing it even had potential (but that's a discussion for another post)

Through this position I was able to go out and speak at republican clubs on the value and "power" of the precinct chairs.  I was appointed to the position of Chairwoman to a newly formed committee called The Precinct Organization Committee (POC).  In this position I assembled an 8 person committee to form 2 plans, One to re-engage the existing chairs and Two to fill precincts that have a vacancy with a chairman/woman.

The POC was aggressive in finding solutions and getting a problem solved which was two-fold 1. the existing chairs were non-involved and 2. too many precincts left vacant.  In 3 months time we had over 15 meetings, looked over maps and began a program of engaging the existing chairs with current city council candidates, this would be our primary focus before going about filling a vacant precinct and having to train someone new from nothing.

Politics just has that way of being the spoiler of good things.  After 6 months my nemesis emerged the V.Chairman (who would go on to be the county GOP Chair) A man of too much ego and I would be in his crosshair for the next 12 months, until my defeat. (but that's for another post)

The chairs enjoyed the engagement as we began having social interaction with an ice cream social to meet each other and the candidates and then a second social the Halloween bash at precinct chair Tom Neals pub. I began training sessions to give chairs the maps and lists they needed to know their precinct voters and neighbors and brought in candidates for meet n greets encouraging other chairs to follow and do the same.  This engagement sparked a fire that hadn't been lit in years, and the local GOP would start moving again.

Today I enjoy seeing the results of my work and enjoyed being a part of its beginnings. and hopefully it is just a beginning with more things to come. Thank You PCT 3 for your support over the two years, stay engaged.

Management position

Thank you to all the precinct chairs in Pct 3 that showed their vote of confidence and elected me as committee woman on the Bexar County Republican Party management committee.

This blog will take on a new role of gathering information in all of Pct 3 for all the precinct chairs and their voters.

As committee woman it is my plan to get information out and educate the chairmen so they have the right tools and as many tools to assist them in getting out the Republican vote this November.

I believe as Republicans we have now put aside our candidate differences and are ready / willing / able to forge ahead to defeat Obama and win Romney-Ryan ticket into the white house.

If you are ready to work with me and reside in Pct 3 please contact me and I'd love to setup a coffee meet with you.
